"I have named the practice The Nook Health and Wellness. There are several reasons for this. I have referred to the space I am using in downtown Chestertown for my office as “The Nook” since my arrival here in the late summer of 2018. By way of definition, “nook” refers to a safe, protected, and secluded place, often a place of rest and rejuvenation. Additionally, in our work together (and especially when invoking a Jungian perspective), we will at times explore some of the small, secluded spaces or “nooks” of your psyche. Consequently, to me the name well represents our ongoing journey together."

Decades of research in the field of psychotherapy consistently confirm a key premise: The quality of the therapeutic relationship is a more important predictor of outcome than is the specific technique or model of therapy. 

It may take a few sessions of talking and working together to determine the quality of therapuetic relationship that we may be able to establish.

We can choose to work together through a secure telehealth platform called Simple Practice, or in person in our office in downtown Chestertown. Recent research during the Covid era has confirmed that clients and clinicians can and do experience as strong sense of connectedness even with virtual sessions.
